Is it true that Apostle Paul instructs women to never teach other women anything else besides Titus 2: 3-5? Well, I have observed that there are “fundamentalist” religious people, their wives and other women of the same mindset telling women that when it comes to women teaching them, they should only be taught Titus 2: 3-5 by women. They supposedly should learn everything else in the entire Bible from men only.
One woman even claimed that women are usurping men’s authority by teaching women anything besides Titus 2: 3-5. First of all, we are not to add or take anything from the word of God. Apostle Paul did NOT command women to never teach women anything else besides Titus 2: 3-5.
This assumption is not what the Bible teaches. This appears to have been made up so that women would teach only the parts that some, including religious misogynists want taught to women by women.
Maybe this way, some women will know only that particular part of the Bible (Titus 2: 3-5) and be kept ignorant on what kind of husband to marry in the first place. Not everyone is Bible literate. If women rely on teachings from other people, it is important that they receive the full truth.
What I’ve noticed inside some churches is that some men absolutely refuse to hold other men accountable.
They seem more concerned with their pride and protecting each other’s positions and public reputations.
Some men in the world seem to do a better job holding other men accountable than some in the churches do! I am all for learning about how God wants me to live as a single and as a wife. I am all for women learning and complying to God’s commands on how to be a wife. Does this mean other information is not important for women to learn also?
• Should women not help each other and warn each other in advance about life issues?
• Should a woman not instruct her daughter not to go out into the street without looking first, because Apostle Paul didn’t mention this in Titus 2?
• Should women not teach their daughters and other women to be careful and prayerful, guided by the Holy Spirit in all the decisions they make? After all, Paul did not mention being careful, prayerful, and being led by the Spirit in Titus 2: 3-5.
• Is it true that godly women should not extensively teach other godly women about the type of man that they should marry?
• Does it not matter that God wants the husband and wife to reflect Christ and the church?
• How will a woman marry a man that reflects Christ if she has not read, understood or been taught Ephesians 5 : 25-33?
They are saying leave it to the men to teach all the rest of the Bible to women. Clearly, some preachers have not been teaching the whole truth. That is the ongoing problem. Do people want women ignorant and endangered by their lack of knowledge?
Plenty women have indeed perished for their lack of biblical and all-around knowledge. Some Christian women have married men who are religious imposters. These ladies weren’t armed with the guidance that they needed.
Some women believe wrong things about themselves because they have heard twisted Bible teachings. There are women who have the wrong view of God because of how He has been falsely represented by certain leaders.
There are people who apparently don’t want women ignorant of their duties mentioned in Titus 2: 3- 5. However, what about the rest of the Bible? If a woman only learns and obeys Titus 2: 3-5, she will be easy and enjoyable for her husband to deal with. At the same time, she may not know what to expect of her husband prior to marriage, in order to choose her husband wisely.
Let’s not forget the adversary speaks scriptures out of context. One line or one passage out of the entire can be used out of context to make a moot point.
This is instead of reading the Bible within full context and taking in the whole balanced picture with understanding.
By telling women to teach only Titus: 2: 3-5 to other women, this is to suggest withholding other vital information from the ladies. Some of the leaders out there refuse to teach the Bible correctly in a balanced way and in context. Now, some are telling women not to share the rest of the truth with other women.
One reason so many women make so many mistakes in relationships is because they are ill-informed. Often, their earthly fathers don’t give away knowledge about the game to them or sufficiently explain the ways and the moves of some of the men out there. Yet, many fathers try to control their daughter’s sexuality.
For a father to refuse to equip his daughter with head knowledge and Bible knowledge that comes from the whole Bible while he makes rules and restrictions so that she won’t have sex, means he isn’t thoroughly protecting her.
Another example of selfishly withholding information is when some fathers have a fixation on their daughters not having sex, but they aren’t fixated enough on their daughters entire well-being.
Many Christian women have been deceived into marrying religious imposters, because they were not properly informed beforehand. They were taught to submit, submit, submit, and the rest of the word was not emphasized correctly. They didn’t even know fully what kind of man they should marry and submit to. So they married the best way they knew how.
Often, young Christian women are left without proper knowledge, but also are pressured to get married. Now, certain people, including religious misogynists and the women under their control are commanding women to share only Titus 2: 3-5 with women.
I will continue to share other truth from God’s word as well, with my young sisters in Christ, and with any other women interested. Too many church leaders have not shared the whole truth. They have twisted God’s word, cherry-picked it and over-emphasized some parts. They under-emphasize other parts and have left many women ignorant and misled.
I continue to learn as well and love learning from other women. It is true that each individual should have a personal relationship with God and be Bible literate. People of God should pray and trust in God while relying on the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
Unfortunately, some people rely too heavily on their pastors for the word of God and guidance. This has been taken advantage of and people have been led astray, due to their Biblical ignorance.
However, my eyes are wide open to this chronic problem. I was misinformed also by church leadership when I was a young girl. It left me traumatized, feeling inferior, confused, depressed, hurt, and feeling alienated from God.
Fortunately, God was not going to let me remain in that state. When I was a bit older, I felt a desire to really search the scriptures. I began to search. I dug into God’s word myself, instead of primarily listening to and relying on other’s teachings, omissions and interpretations.
I prayed for understanding. God made His healing truth known to me. I will continue to stand in His truth as I stand against the adversary and share liberating, healing truth with girls and other women.
“But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.
As we said before, so say I now again, if any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.”
Galatians 1: 8-9.
