Do you know Jesus as your Lord and Savior?
• Do you believe on the name of the Son of God, and do you abide in the doctrine of Jesus Christ?
• Every person is created by God. God is holy. God is a loving God, but He is holy. God requires every person to be holy.
Every human being is born in sin.
• The Bible tells us, “For we have all sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.” Romans 3: 23 KJV.
“The wages of sin is death.” Romans 6: 23 KJV.
Yet, God is holy and calls us to be holy.
“But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation; Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.” 1 Peter 1 :15 -16 KJV.
Sin separates us from God. What must a person do to be saved? They must believe.
Here are 3 crucial steps:
1. Each person needs to understand that they are a sinner and be willing to turn from their sin.
2. In order to be saved, every person must have faith in Jesus Christ as their Savior; each person must believe.
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” John 3: 16 KJV.
• We see that even though we are sinners, Jesus died to pay the penalty for our sins so that we would not have to perish.
We must believe this and accept the free gift of salvation that was purchased for us by Jesus when he died on the cross to pay the penalty for our sins.
3. In order to be saved, each person must believe in their heart that God raised Jesus Christ from the dead; each person must also confess with their mouth that Jesus Christ is Lord.
“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” Romans 10: 9-10 KJV.
Because of the sinful state of mankind, the Bible tells us that people must be born again, born of the Spirit.
“Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.” John 3: 3 KJV.
“Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.” John 3: 5-6 KJV.
• When someome is truly born again, and God has transformed them, there will be evidence of this in the holy life that they live.
• The Bible tells us, “Therefore, if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” 2 Corinthians 5:17 KJV.
There are fruits of righteousness and fruits of evil. There are evil fruits or works, and there are the fruits of righteousness. The Bible tells us what the fruit of the Spirit is, and what the works of the flesh are in Galatians 5 :19- 26 KJV.
The born again son or daughter of God will be producing primarily fruits of righteousness. No one is perfect immediately after getting saved. It is an ongoing work; a sanctification process that continues throughout life.
However, there will be a demonstration of righteous living, and when a son or daughter of God does make a mistake, they will rightfully feel convicted and confess their faults to God and make any wrongs right with others.
Those who are born again have received the Spirit of God. The Holy Spirit of God empowers us to live a holy life.
“In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise…” Ephesians 1: 13 KJV.
“For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.” Romans 8: 13 KJV.
● For all who reject Jesus Christ:
• People who do not believe reject Jesus Christ. Sin itself is a result of unbelief.
• When someone rejects Jesus Christ, it means they have chosen satan and death. They will be lost and suffer eternal separation from God.
“And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.” Mark 16: 15-16 KJV.
“And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels, In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ: Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power;…”
2 Thessalonians 1: 7-9 KJV.
Despite a common lack of church and pastoral acknowledgement of hell, hell fire awaits for all of those who reject Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.
“Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:…” Matthew 25: 41 KJV.
