Amidst the gender wars, there are some men calling out and rebuking gentlemen who love and respect women, accusing them of being “simps.” Some men really seem to hate women to the point where they don’t even want to see women treated well.
This shouldn’t have to be said, but a man doing these things is not simping:
• A man advocating for women who are on the receiving end of injustices, such as the discrimination and oppression of women.
• A husband who is faithful/monogamous to his wife and holds her in high esteem.
• An emotionally intelligent man who does not fear love, but boldly and actively loves his woman / wife, even putting her needs before his own.
• Calling out other men’s bad behaviors, wrong perspectives and holding them accountable for how they treat women.
• Defending women’s liberties and dignity.
• On behalf of God and humanity, not covering up the transgressions of other men who mistreat women.
• Emphasizing the importance of monogamy and rebuking male promiscuity.
• Not siding with men due to gender, but choosing integrity in calling what is right right, and what is wrong wrong.
• Treating women respectfully, valuing them as equally important, equally valuable human beings.
• Not supporting hypocrisy and double standards in favor of men.
It’s important not to support double standards that favor women either, but I’ve never heard a man be called a “simp” for refusing to support double standards that favor women. It is important that we all treat each other well, love each other as commanded.
For all people, part of loving others means without partiality, taking a stand against and also speaking out against injustices.
Supporting Bible verses:
” Do to others whatever you would like them to do to you. This is the essence of all that is taught in the law and the prophets.”
Matthew 7: 12
“Jesus replied, “‘You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment.
A second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ The entire law and all the demands of the prophets are based on these two commandments.”
Matthew 22: 37-40.
