In this post I’m going to discuss what it means to be feminine in a godly way. I am aware that not everybody is a believer and follower of Jesus Christ. As a Christian, I understand that there is only one way for things to get better for humanity. The only way is to do things God’s way.
We live in an age of people calling wrong right and right wrong, radical feminism, misogyny, gender confusion, gender wars, sexual perversion, and all-around corruption.
One thing is for certain: many men, women, boys, and girls are confused. Households are confused and out of order. Consequently, society is dysfunctional. Why is this?
People have deviated from God. God’s way is the only way that works. In spite of this, there are indeed many Christians already. There are also people who will become followers of Jesus Christ in the future. For those wanting to please God, there is a way things can be done to get back on the right track, and right in the sight of God.
The right way will never be the popular way.
• Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life, according to John 14:6.
• The path to follow Jesus is straight and narrow. Matthew 7: 14. Many will choose the broad way.
Men and women glorify God and do His will by obeying His commandments, and fulfilling and living according to their God-given roles. For the woman desiring to please God, it is important to:
• Honor and love God with everything, and above all else.
“And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself.” Luke 10: 27
• Love and honor God above all else, which means obedience to His commandments.
Jesus said, “If ye love me, keep my commandments.” John 14: 15.
• Accept and honor God’s ways and His will.
“After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.” Matthew 6: 9-10.
• Surrender to God, denying self to follow Jesus Christ.
“Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it. For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?” Matthew 16: 24-26.
• Embrace true femininity.
– This means accepting the truth about who women are, and living a life that reflects what God says about women. Proverbs 31: 10 says, “Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies.”
More supporting scriptures about godly feminity are found in Proverbs 31: 30; 1 Timothy 2: 9; Titus 2: 3-5.
This also means accepting and understanding that men and women are different, but equally important and valuable in God’s sight.
Genesis 1:26-27 says, “And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.”
See also Galatians 3:28.
• Reject extreme ideologies and behaviors that are contrary to God’s will.
– An example of such is radical feminism that goes beyond wanting God-given rights and does not properly recognize gender distinction.
– Another wrong way of thinking is agreement with the idea that it is OK for women to take the lives of the innocent, unborn for their own convenience.
“Thou shalt not kill.” Exodus 20: 13:
–The Lord hates hands that shed innocent blood. See Proverbs 6: 16-17.
Titus 2: 4 says, “That they (aged women) may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children…”
• Honor God by honoring ourselves and our bodies. 1 Corinthians 6: 18-19:
“Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body. What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?”
• Embrace who we are overall, according to what God says about us.
Good scripture references are: Genesis 1: 26-28; Psalms 139: 14; Proverbs 31; Colossians 3: 18; Ephesians 5.
• Live a holy life before God and others, so they will see God’s light.
“Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.” Matthew 5: 15-16.
• Live a life before others that reflects God’s love.
“By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.” John 13:35.
